So, tell me what to get. I'd like to get an Android phone with a slide out keyboard, preferably on the sprint network so I don't have to change carriers. That's about it really, heh.

The Samsung Moment looks to fit your stated criteria.

I took the important points and tried to bold them for you. What does that mean? Well it works on Sprints FAST data network. It has a decent CPU, RAM is... Meh, and ROM is also meh. But all in all it is certainly a decent phone. And a hard keyboard to boot! Nice!! Let me know if you have any other questions. I'd like to put some vids on Youtube highlighting my favorite apps and a few shortcuts that make the OS REALLY handy. I must warn you, there is a slight learning curve (as with any new OS), but I am here to help!

While I am at it, I looked up some Youtube vids of the phone in action so you can see for yourself if this is something you'd like. Also, this phone is likely only a small ways off from getting the Android 2.1 upgrade. So plan for that soon!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x3ShFOrkb4c -Mind you this CNet guy is pretty picky...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KsWM1-2zvWM -And the infamous unboxing video with an extensive walkthrough

Hope that helps!

PS: Is my phone obsession healthy?

Still at work, so I haven't looked at the videos yet. I'm not planning on going out right away to get something new, so I should wait until the Moment gets android 2.1 before getting it, or is there another phone on a different network that would be worth switching for? I'm actually planning on getting a second unlimited line anyhow, so a different carrier isn't that huge of a deal, I just have sprint already and they have about the cheapest unlimited everything plans. I think T mobile and metro PCS are cheaper, but I haven't heard alot of good about the networks.

You know, T-Mobile has ALWAYS been mediocre at best. Their 3G coverage is terrible, and regular standard 2G is STILL spotty even today. I personally use AT&T and they just dropped their prices. I have never had a problem with AT&T (though I am sure you've heard the horror stories some folks experience). I love em and have been loyal for at least 6 years now. I use AT&T on the Nexus One, and couldn't be happier. The Nexus takes all these specs and puts it to shame! And it comes either locked to T-Mobile or unlocked for a generous price.

Technically, I don't think any obsession is healthy.

I would have to disagree with this statement. I have had T-mobile for years and have always had good service and coverage. They seem to be a bit late to the table with some things (last carrier to go 3G and all), but I've always found them to be solid and affordable.

Back when I had the choice between the two (T or AT&T) I chose AT&T because in my area (Santa Barbara) it was T-Mobile downtime all over. With AT&T I can say that, except for just a few miles in the entire 600 miler back to Cali, has GREAT coverage all over WITH 3G and now upgraded 3G! My other friend uses T-Mobile and swears by them. Its just a matter of opinion really. But I think if you were to break it down, AT&T wins in the coverage and speed department.
